WHO WE ARE
Lyrebird Community Centre is a not for profit, community based organisation. We are independently overseen by a Board of Management which is made up of a diverse range of volunteers from the community.
The Board of Management is the responsible body that works as a team, together with the Centre Manager, to establish policies and procedures that ensure the Centre continues to provide viable programs relevant to the growing needs of the community.
The Centre offers a range of programs and activities for all ages including Education, Computers, Children’s Services, Recreation Activities, Support Groups and Information as well as being supportive to all.
We are located within the Frankston City Council. The Centre is part of the South East Victorian Region of Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) and is a Learn Local Provider. The Centre’s Childcare is licensed as a Limited Hours Type 2 service, is approved for Childcare Subsidy and complies with the Children’s Services Regulations 2009 and Children’s Services Act 1996.
Lyrebird Community Centre wishes to acknowledge the assistance of Adult, Community and Further Education (ACFE), the Victorian Government and Frankston City Council.

Lyrebird Community Centre is dedicated to providing a welcoming environment where we support and promote our community’s wellbeing, harmony, cultural diversity and inclusiveness. We also provide opportunities for lifelong learning, education and skills development.
We strive to respond to the expressed needs of our community and be affordable and accessible to all.

Our vision of “Bringing the Community Together” is achieved by providing local residents and groups with a modern facility, programs and services which promote and encourage a connected community. These include events, innovative short courses and pre-accredited training. We strive to build on the strengths within our community, through the sharing of talents, skills and knowledge, both now and into the future.
