Lyrebird Community Centre was originally established as the Carrum Downs Community Centre in 1988 and was then located in the GK Tucker Village as part of the Brotherhood of St Laurence. It originally consisted of two small cottages; one for playgroup and the other allowing craft activities and to house the Centre Manager.
Lyrebird Community Centre moved to its current location in late 1993 and was officially opened in March 1994. It received a much needed extension in 2003 when the Centre became an even larger, more modern facility.
Today, the Centre is a vibrant venue and has established itself as the hub of our community. It is the place to be, hosting a number of activities, courses, events and community groups for Carrum Downs, Skye and Sandhurst.
